It is so HOT! Actually our house is a lot hotter than it is outside sometimes. That means lots of water!! We met with a lot of fun people this week, but I want to share one experience that was the highlight of my week.

We are meeting with two investigators who are doing the Family English Program. They have a lot of English interest, but they are very willing to listen to our gospel message. This week we followed up on our invitation to read the introduction of The Book of Mormon. One of them said she was sorry she only read up to 1 Nephi chapter 13! She said it helps her sleep at night. It was a miracle!!  And even though she was originally English interest, she is progressing in the gospel. It is neat to recognize how much she needs the gospel in her life the more we meet with her. I'm so blessed to have the gospel in my life!

This morning in honor of Pioneer Day, I read a talk by President Monson about pioneers. He talked about how a pioneer is someone who leads the way for others to follow. He explains that the greatest example of a pioneer was the Savior. I'm grateful for the Savior, and how his atonement brings so much joy to my life. I'm also grateful to have the chance to help people become pioneers for their own family by being baptized and accepting the gospel.
Have a wonderful week!!

Yesterday in Sunday School we learned about prayer. This caused me to think about how prayer has impacted my life. So for today I would just like to share my testimony on prayer.

Before I started my mission I prayed every day and I prayed when I needed help. However, as a missionary I have come to know that prayer is so much more! I have learned prayer is how we communicated with our Father in Heaven who loves us more than we can imagine. Through prayer we can thank him for all the miracles in our life. We can ask him for help. When we feel there is no one else to talk to, we can talk to him. I've also learned His answers can be as simple as a feeling of peace to a miracle of being able to meet with an investigator.

We are meeting with two people who we teach English and the gospel to. They are originally English interest, but as we meet you can feel they are ready for the gospel. This past week we met with them and I could feel the spirit strongly as we taught.

We also met with a mom who is very interested in English for her two daughters. We taught them a very simple lesson on prayer and you could feel the spirit in that room. It is amazing the difference a sincere prayer can make in our lives.

As I pray with and for these people I serve in Korea, I can feel God's love for them. Through prayer I can feel God's love for me. I know prayer is for our benefit and I know that God loves me. I'm so grateful to be a missionary!!

Miracles Come in all Shapes and Sizes...

Sister Tolley and I decided we were going to find a new investigator every day this past week. We found one new investigator, but she seems very prepared!

From this experienced I learned the value of hard work, the importance of setting goals, and to never give up. Since we had plans to find new investigators everyday, we were able to schedule appointments with lots of people and most of our plans went through. We were also able to find a new investigator. She is a previous investigator who met with the missionaries 12 years ago. When we met with her we asked her to read the introduction to the Book of Mormon, after she read it she asked where she could buy it! It was a neat experience!

I love serving a mission. I love how it is changing my life. Yesterday I had to give a talk in sacrament meeting. I was nervous because I forgot about it until the day before. I studied and prayed enough that I knew God could help me give it. When I got up to give my talk, a man who isn't a member started being disruptive and it flustered me. I just skipped what I had planned and started with a scripture. It was amazing how the scripture made everything better and actually set the stage for the whole meeting. Talk about scripture power!

I know this gospel is true. The best part is we get credit for trying! I'm so grateful to be a missionary! Have a wonderful week and don't forget to smile, because Jesus loves you!!

Last Transfer?!?!

In an effort to work harder than ever, Sister Tolley and I are going to find seven new investigators this week. That is one a day. We know there are many people in our area just waiting to hear the gospel and in an effort to show are faith, we are going to find a new investigator everyday this week. We are praying, planning, and talking to as many people as possible in order to do it. I know if we diligently set a goal and work toward it, God will help us. I'm so excited for this week, but as for last week...

We got a new mission president this week--President Turner. It is different, but still good. We were able to meet him on Thursday.

On Friday, we met with a two new investigators who were a referral from another set of missionaries. We were told they mostly have English interests, but when we met with them they had lots of potential. I’m so excited to work with them.

Here is the miracle for the week: The mother and her daughter we have been teaching have been coming to church almost every week for about two months now, but we haven't been able to meet them outside of church. The mom loves the church and wants her and her daughter to be a part of it. The daughter feels a lot of pressure about baptism and there is no one her age in our ward to fellowship her. In an effort to focus more on the daughter we made something for her, but she didn't come to church yesterday. However, her mom did. After church we asked if we could come home with her and give the gift to her daughter. She let us, and invited us in. She wanted to give us a drink, but we were fasting so we told her we couldn't. She wanted to feed us, so she invited us to their house for lunch this week. It was a miracle!! We will finally be able to meet them outside of church and will be able to help them more!  I’ve learned God really cares about us and if we follow him he will bless us.

I'm so blessed to be a missionary serving my Heavenly Father! I know this gospel is true. I know the gospel can make us happier than we could ever imagine!
