Miracles!

This week our investigator came to church! She made it sound like she would only come to Sacrament Meeting, but she came to all three hours! She is really progressing, and coming to church helped her to build relationships with the members. Before church, the Bishop asked me to give a five minute talk because the youth speaker didn't prepare. I was nervous and didn't know what to do so I said a prayer. I asked God to help me say something that would touch our investigator's heart. I just opened my mouth and the words I needed to say came. This testified to me, if I give what I have God will make it great! After Sacrament Meeting our investigator told me how my words touched her heart. I'm finally starting to realize what it means to give my all, and God will make up the difference. This was a miracle and I'm so grateful for all the miracles in my life!

In Ether 12, Moroni feels inadequate in his writing abilities. The Lord responses with versus 27.

And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

I know as we do what God asks of us, he will bless us. I know this gospel is true and I know God works through us to bring about great things.

Last week we wanted Macaroons. After we got them, someone came up to us and asked to meet. So we called them Miracle Macaroons

What A Week!!

In order to feel more confident in my Korean abilities, I decided to have a Korean week. Sister Robinson agreed to do it with me too. We decided this week whenever we weren't at home we would speak Korean (including going to the park to exercise in the morning). At first it was a little difficult, but as the week went on I began to feel more comfortable speaking Korean than English. It really helped me to feel more confident in my Korean abilities. It also helped me to feel like I was helping my companion more. I'm so grateful for SYL(Speak Your Language). I was able to see all the benefits that come from it. In addition to feeling more confident and improving my Korean skills, we were able to see more miracles this week. One miracle was that we were able to find more people to teach.

One miracle happened when we decided to call previous investigators. We were able to schedule an appointment with the first person we called. Last week, we were able to meet with one we had called the week before.

On Sunday our investigator came to the morning session of general conference! It was amazing, and she loved it. She seems happier every time we meet with her. She told us that Conference was just like the things we have been teaching her!

I love serving in Korea! I'm so grateful for my decision to serve a mission. It has helped me to change for the better and is teaching me to work harder than I ever have in my life. I know that hard work brings blessings.  I know this gospel is true!!

Service!

This week was great! I went on exchanges. We cleaned a bathroom, we taught some cool lessons, we talked to lots of people, got some random phone calls, and received a calling! Best week ever, right?!?!

At the beginning of the week we went on exchanges with the Sister Training Leaders. It was a lot of fun. I learned how I can be a better missionary and how I need to talk to everyone I meet. I also learned the importance of goal setting. So this week my companion and I are setting lots of goals! We are going to try to speak only Korean when we aren't at home.  We are doing this to improve our Korean and our teaching skills. I'm excited!!

Since we've started making goals and started talking to more people. We had people call us wanting to meet plus we received a referral! It was a miracle!!  We were also able to meet with our only investigator twice. She is super prepared and she said she would watch General Conference with us this weekend! Our lessons with her were really good. I know it was all thanks to the Spirit!

Guess What?... Sister Robinson and I got called to be in the Young Women’s Presidency. I'm the first counselor, and Sister Robinson is the second counselor. The young women are a lot of fun and super cute! I'm excited to work with them!

To end my email, I'd like to share a scripture about service because service is amazing!!

"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
-Mosiah 2:17

I know as we look outward and serve others we will feel so much happier inside and out. Serving a mission has made me a happier person!!

Sister Mustain
