The Final Stretch!

So apparently I come home on Friday... The past 18 months just seemed to have flown by. I'm excited, but sad at the same time. Sad to leave behind all the incredible people I’ve met, but excited to see my family and friends again.
This week was crazy! We met with a lot of people and not all of them were because I was leaving. All we did most the week was go from appointment to appointment. The craziest part was transfer calls! We found out that Sister Tolley is leaving too! So our area is being whitewashed (two new sister missionaries will come)!!! Since then we have been busy preparing the area for two sisters who know nothing about it.

To end, I'd like to share what happened on Sunday! I had to give a talk, teach the youth Sunday school class and the young women. The talk was great and the lesson in young women’s was good, but I was not prepared for the youth Sunday school class. We decided to go to that class, but when we got there, there was no teacher! So I looked over the topic and tried my best to spend a 45 minutes teaching the youth about Family History in Korean. Luckily I had God's help and it turned out fine. Through all this talking, I realized how much my Heavenly Father has helped me to be more confident in myself and to speak a foreign language.

I know my Heavenly Father loves me and he is always there to help me! I'm so grateful to have had this incredible opportunity to serve in Korea and meet such amazing people!

Little Things Make the World Go Round

This past week went by extremely fast!

On Monday we meet with a member from one of the areas I had previously served in. She is amazing and it was neat because she grew up in Mokdong and had actually been wanting to go to Mokdong, but never had a reason until I called.

Friday was the hottest day of the year. We had 5 appointments. It was crazy running from appointment to appointment, but it was so much fun and it helped us stay cool!! At the last appointment of the day we did a practice lesson with a young single adult in our ward. It was a really good lesson and after she told us that it helped her!

Sunday we got to the church for ward counsel and guess what!?! We didn't have ward council, instead we had to get rid of an inch of water that covered the chapel. We were using shovels, plates, towels, and even the vacuum cleaner to get rid of all the water. We put it in buckets and them dumped it out the window. It was the craziest thing ever. It was a blessing that it happened when it did because I don't know what we would have done about it if the ward wasn't there to help! It was a crazy morning.

I'm so grateful I'm able to serve here in Korea. Through all that happened last week I realized it is the little things that make life so enjoyable. I'm so grateful for my mission and I can't wait to see what will happen these last two weeks!!

The Little Miracles Bring the Most Joy!

It's August, what do you know! I just want to say I love being a missionary! I love serving in Korea! I love being rejected! And I love it when people accept the gospel!
This past week we talked to so many people it was crazy! On Monday we were on the bus and I sat next to a student studying English. I got up the courage and started talking to her. We talked about her and then about the gospel. I gave her Book of Mormon (she took it). We also got her number and will try to meet with her again. It was a neat experience!! I'm so blessed for that because it gave me the courage to talk to people the rest of the week. She also told us that she was so grateful for the book we gave her.

I love those moments when you find someone who is willing to listen to you and accept this gift we have to share. The gift of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Those moments are the ones that make all the hard times, all the rejections absolutely worth it. I'm so grateful for the chance to share the gospel and the chance I have to gain a deeper understanding of what our Savior did for us!

Have an amazing week!!

Love,
Sister Mustain
